A moment of focus
Prayer Focus and app blocking: make your phone quieter
Understand the difference between a prayer Focus screen, selected-app blocking and recording a prayer. Choose a setup and an exit you understand.
Notice what pulls you back
Before changing every setting, identify the interruption you meet most often. Is it a message preview, the habit of opening a particular app, or simply keeping the screen within reach? Choose one of these to address first.
Try a small, practical change: put the phone face down, move it away from your prayer space, or silence an unnecessary notification. You do not need a complicated arrangement for a single quiet moment.
Decide what should remain available
Think about anything you need to keep accessible, such as an expected call or information you will use afterward. Review your phone’s options for limiting interruptions and choose the settings that suit your circumstances.
If you use an app-blocking feature, start with a short selection of apps you find distracting. Check that you understand what is restricted and how to leave the session. A useful setup should be one you chose deliberately and can adjust.
Know what MishMish Focus does
From Today, choose Begin Focus to open the in-app prayer screen. When you have prayed, I have prayed records your action. Hold to leave lets you leave without recording a prayer. Simply opening the screen or spending time there does not prove that you prayed.
Automatic Focus is a separate choice: it opens the Focus screen when a prayer begins while MishMish is open. It is different from allowing notifications and different from configuring native app blocking. Choose each setting for the effect you want.
Set up blocking and understand the way back
Optional app blocking depends on device support, permission and the applications you select. Follow the setup and check the behavior on your own phone. Opening Focus alone does not confirm that another app is blocked.
When a selected app is blocked, return to MishMish to record your prayer after you have prayed. Closing the blocked-app screen does not release the block or record a prayer. Stopping blocking and leaving without recording remain available; the session also has a fixed expiry. Check the controls before relying on a session.
Supported blocking, setup and all exits are free. Optional Pro Focus themes change the appearance, not the strength of blocking. You can also put your phone aside without starting a session.
Keep the useful parts
Afterward, notice which choice helped and which added effort. Keep the useful parts of the setup. You might choose fewer selected apps or use a physical place for the phone instead. The next occasion can begin with the same simple choice, without adding another task to your day.
